Lute FP I’m a metalhead foremost, a collector of most styles second, and a recent initiate into the world of punk. It took decades of evolution in my personal taste, as well as an evolution in the punk genre at large, to finally seek out punk rock music.

This came across my radar a long time ago, catching my attention immediately as a metalhead. As an historical document it is priceless, but for personal enjoyment there isn’t enough variety. Clearly they evolved, but not for the first 30 songs here.
Gwynncore

Gwynncore Whether done intentionally or just because of the poor gear they had as Sean alleges WZ's noise rock days are criminally underraged. These songs are some of the hardest hitting vile garage soundjng pieces of music ever recorded, especially the songs from Soul Crusher, which is the best album included here imo. I would kill to be able to go back in time and see them at CBGBs with Tom Five on guitar. Favorite track: Drowning the Colossus.

Will It was 1994. a blizzard was stirring in upper Pennsylvania. My friend and coworker, Jeff, knew I loved White Zombie and like a big brother would... brought cold Chinese to heat on the car's heater and brave the storm to Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA. I was 14 he was 31. I had La Sexorcisto and Make Them Die Slowly. This is the tale of my first concert. It was great. I wrote to caroline records trying to find more White Zombie. Finally, the band parted with their hidden history. thank you. I finally got my wish. Amazing NY Noise!

PS I had a terrible bootleg with 10 tracks mixed together but all the unreleased Vinal for 2 decades. :p Favorite track: Eighty-Eight.

hilltop Intersting Noise metal punk emanating out of NYC in the mid 80"s. Many songs do not resonate but when a song grabs you its quite a nice guitar laden ride! Favorite track: King of Souls.

Bucky I'm not a total punk rock aficionado by any means, but this is some filthy rotten street punk in the form of a collectors item box set like no other. I had to pull the trigger. Verified by some of the truest and bluest vinyl ambassadors as being legit, White Zombie (pre-mainstream) have surprised me with an all out punk rock assault, which documents the birth of the alt metal giant. This is great!!

about

It Came From N.Y.C. is the most exhaustive attempt so far to document the band’s wondrously ugly birth. Get reintroduced to White Zombie as New York noise-rock, a grotesque creation that clawed and threatened its way to crossover metal glory.

On June 3rd 2016, Numero resurrects White Zombie’s eternally out-of-print early EPs and LPs as It Came From N.Y.C. Spread across five LPs or three compact discs, all 39 tracks have been remastered by guitarist J. Yuenger and packaged alongside the original lurid artwork. The accompanying 108-page book painstakingly documents White Zombie’s punishing progression through scores of unpublished photos, period discography, a T-shirtography, and tales from the terrifying early years that stitch together the sordid story of a band whose true power eclipsed its mainstream heyday. White Zombie lives. Don’t be afraid.

about

White Zombie New York, New York

Years before Beavis and Butt-head headbanged “Thunder Kiss ’65” and “More Human than Human” into the eternal rock video canon, there was primordial White Zombie—a quintessential, diabolically loud byproduct of Manhattan’s underground rock scene, born of art-school rendezvous and squalid apartment circumstance. ... more
